Dan Tloome Mega Project – a mixed use development – aims to work in conjunction with Mega Project by Gauteng Department of Human Settlements and deliver Government fully subsidized units.
All of the units subsidized by the Government will be distributed to the beneficiaries – BNG (RDP) housing, Affordable and GAP housing, High density Social housing, Rental Stock and so on.
Development consists of 30 000 residential units with all necessary amenities – schools, community centres, shopping centres, retail, neighbourhood centres, student accommodation, industrial park, and more.
It is a live-in-work-in development where inhabitants can work and live in the development.
This in turn provides number of intended objectives:
Phases 1-5 consisting of 22 101 Residential units with infrastructure and amenities.
Solar, Water, Grey Water and Sewer, Gas, Waste Collection and Harvesting and Data and Connectivity. This will be done in phases and scaled as the development grows.
High Performance Training centre, Gauteng Sports Village (GSV) and 20 000 seater Stadium. The village includes number of sport fields and various sports facilities.
Some 88 000 sqm of retails is planned throughout the development in order to cater for residents’ needs.
Job creation forms big part of the development. Temporary jobs will be created during the development as well as permanent employment. Jobs will range from construction, alternative building practices, artisans to retail.
Education, Upliftment and Economic Empowerment model.
Over 88 000 m2 is planned throughout the development.
Shopping mall including number of smaller retail nodes are planned, integrated and placed strategically throughout the development.
Industrial nodes, placed strategically also form part of the development and enable job creation.
The aim behind the GSV is to promote sports, healthy lifestyle, reduce crime and provide the environment that enables young sports men & women to develop their talents and be groomed as future Olympians and professional athletes in a world class facility.
